North Carolina Baptist Campus Ministry
About North Carolina Campus Ministries

A major focus of ministry with college students occurs on local campuses. North Carolina Baptists support full-time ministry at 18 of the major schools in the state. An additional 18 to 22 campuses are served by volunteers who may be church staff members, faculty members or lay persons with an interest in students.

The state-level Baptist Campus Ministry (BCM) provides opportunities for spiritual growth, missions involvement and leadership development, with students assuming leadership roles in planning and implementing programs. Rick Trexler of the Campus Ministry Team staff gives guidance and direction to the state-level program.

Our Campus Ministry Team has enjoyed working cooperatively with the General Baptist State Convention of N.C., Inc. for many years. Several years ago the GBSC created a state-level staff position, Baptist Student Union Coordinator, and employed Rev. Percy Chase as the Baptist Student Union Coordinator for BSUs.
